How to care for your jackets and coats?
Vaquela
Good care starts with simple, regular habits. They preserve the shape, color, and appearance of the fabric. However, the essential rule remains to follow the care label specific to each garment.
Read the label before taking any action
Two visually similar jackets may require different care depending on their composition, lining, and finishes. Check the washing symbols, the allowed temperature, and the drying or professional cleaning recommendations.
Air out rather than washing systematically
After use, let the jacket air out in a dry space, away from direct sunlight. Washing too frequently can wear out the fibers and finishes. Treat a small mark quickly with a method suited to the fabric, without rubbing randomly.
Use a suitable hanger
A sufficiently wide hanger supports the shoulders and prevents deformation. Fasten a button or the main closure to maintain the shape, then leave space between garments so they do not remain compressed.
Protect during the off-season
Store clean and perfectly dry items. Prefer a breathable cover to a closed plastic bag. Empty the pockets, unbuckle belts if they risk marking the fabric, and store them with the garment.
Entrust delicate materials to a professional
If in doubt, especially for textured materials, delicate blends, or complex finishes, ask a professional for advice. Avoid universal recipes: they can change the color or feel.
- Follow the label.
- Air out after use.
- Support the shoulders.
- Store clean and dry.
